SUBJECT: Advanced Aircraft R&D, and Other Ex Com Developments
At the 8 August 1969 meeting, the Ex Com decided that there would 25X1
be no FY 1970 funding of Advanced Aircraft R&D, nor future funding
of advanced aircraft development or a system. Accordingly, all advanced
aircraft efforts are to be terminated when the FY 1969 funded Ihas
been expended.
The Ex Com approved the shared funding I ion the
Option 3 basis, but on the A-12's in Storage requested the DNRO'to
ascertain whether the Air Force would assume the storage and removal
responsibilities. This will be pursued by the Director, Program D.
The DNRO was also given the responsibility to determine the possi-
bility of Air Force and other DOD service funding of Countermeasures R&D,
and perhaps changes in project approaches. In the meantime, the FY 1970
approvals to date will continue to apply.
