a request from State Department that we provide Justice Department with
Agency reports on Korean Cultural and Freedom Foundation and Radio of
Free Asia. ad previously discussed this with of 25X1
OGC. I made some suggestions for inclusion in the transmittal note to 25X1C
Justice and also suggested that this matter be cleared with Mr. Karamessines.

and his Administrative Assistant Paul Schasberg regarding some sensitive
material we understood the Congressman had received from a former Agency
employee. See Memo for the Record.

CI Staff, and Phil
Vandivier, State Department, in meeting with Representative Paul Rogers
and Robert Maher, of his staff, in response to Rogers' request for follow-up
information on a clandestine report on an "arms for opium deal" involving the
ChiNats. We explained that despite continuing efforts we had been unable to
obtain any confirmation of this report and continued to consider it of dubious5X1A
validity. However Rogers persisted in his interest and urged that we conti ~ ue
to seek confirmation or clarification, which we promised to do.
