Discussed with John Goldsmith, on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee, material that might be used in a possible upcoming secret Senate debate on Laos. See Memo for Record. 2. Called Nancy Bearge, Research Assistant, Senate Armed Services Committee, and told her I would like to give her a short defensive briefing prior to her upcoming trip to the Soviet Union. She said she would be available this week. 3. Talked to Grace Hussie, in the office of Senator Hugh Scott (R. , Pa. ), and told her that we would be able to provide some information on the state of the art and technical expertise concerning Soviet production of oxygen and nitrogen but that the information the Agency can provide should be considered supplemental to that provided in meetings with the Department of Commerce and others.
