1. Reference b requested that member agencies report to USIB
by 30 September 1965 on the progress made toward implementing the
recommendations for improving intelligence on Communist China
contained in Annex A of reference a. These reports are contained in
the Tabs to reference c. The CCPC has reviewed the reports of the
various agencies. Following is a summary of the more significant
efforts which the agencies of USIB report that they are making to
implement each USIB-approved recommendation.
2. Recommendation a of USIB-D-64.6/27 (CCPC-D-12/65):
USIB reaffirm the high priority for intelligence activity
against Communist China accorded in DCID 1/3, and
endorse the need for developing a strong intelligence
data base and an intelligence competence against China
commensurate with that against other highest priority
targets.
