I' i?? .1- Two Denver-headquartered labor groups .Friday -denied reports they had received Central intelligence ,Agency funds to carry on international activities: By AL NAM:GLA Rocky Mountain' News Writer r(5)CM Cr' ISE /A Enksi 0 According to reports from Washington, the two unions re- ceived CIA funds to further CIA and Government interests in Latin America and the Middle 'East. ? ; Named were the Oil, Chemical iand Atomic Workers (OCAW), with a membership of 166,000 in this country and Canada, and 'the International Federation of 'petroleum and Chemical Work- 's (IFPCW), one of 18 Inter- national T rad e Secretariats (ITS) with representation of nearly 2 million petroleum and 'phemical workers in 153 unions and federations of unions in 78 countries. All Ties Denied Loyd Haskins, IFPCW gen- - secretary here; categor- ically and emphatically denied any ties to the CIA. rn .a lengthy statement, Has- kins said, "The 1FPCW has never knowingly accepted CIA funds, either .directly or indi- rectly.- ? , . . ? "It is inconceivable to us that any funds we have re- ceived from any sources could in any-way be connected with CIA.
