SUBJECT: Class II Change
Dear Phil:
- Change Phase Stepper PC Board
This letter is submitted as a Class II Change. It recommends modi-
fying the Phase Stepper P.C. Board Assembly, P/N 531A408-406-101,
and Phase Stepper P.C. Board Assembly, P/N 531A408-506-101. Both
Phase Stepper P.C. Board Assemblies mentioned have identical cir-
cuits with different component layouts and are interchangeable in
SLR Receivers.
The purpose of this change is to provide the stable oscillator with
isolation from transients sometimes generated by the phase stepper
board. These transients can cause phase errors and instability in
the oscillator output.
The physical change to both P.C. Assemblies consists of reducing
one (1) capacitor value, changing two (2) inductors and replacing
one (1) coax-contact and increasing the coax-cable lead to it.
All Phase Stepper P.C. Board Assemblies presently used in SLR
Receivers operate satisfactorily.
Future production phase stepper P.C. Board Assemblies, including
spares, will be built to the new configuration.
We propose to change the P/N of the P.C. Board but not change the
P/N of the phase stepper module or receiver.
Units returned to GR for repair will be updated to the new config-
uration.
We are proceeding with this change prior to change approval.
PPB will be changed by change notice to PSO.
