There may be a possibility of ordering an oscilloscope and its
peripheral equiprrsenn:t in the future. However. I would like you to
review the need for an osciiioscope such as the 545. It has been my
experience that most engineers "require" a 545 when, in the majority
of cases, a Heathkit would suffice.

Even though I have authorized the procurement of the funa::tion
generator, I request a phone call describing its use and the amount of
use anticipated for this item.
It may be desirable to order standard rack mounted units
instead of cabinet mounted units. I would like you to evaluate this
"trade off' for me on the basis of cost and operational considerations
prior to engaging in the procurement of cabinet mounted units. Usually
the rack configuration is much easier to use in a maintenance situation.
