Its terrible::::!
(1)
Specifically: A Publications Control Officer at the Office/Division Level
and he to work with RMO'S and RAP........
Whats wrong with the RMO's absorbing this work, it would add another
duty, and possibly make for FULL-TIME RMO'S. If not this will just be
one more stumbling block. By the way What is a publication? Is it
just items like the NIE, NTS, ? Is a regulation a
Publication? A Notice a publication? Think this is a very foggy area
and certainly should be more precise.
(2) Forms printing (including reprints) require the
approval of the Component RMO'S or the FMB....... HO HO this
recommendation has been on the books since May 1961. This is nothing
new, the fact is it is not working, and just repeating something
seven years old is worst than omitting it from the paper. It appears
that they were really looking for something to fill un the paper.
(3) Urge PLED to keep abreast of changing developments in
automatic composing and printing. This adds insult to injury.
This agency as a whole (PSD no exception) most certainly is abreast
and in quite a few instances ahead of other agency with new equipment
and have even gone so iaxy far as to be the testing ground for a lot
of equipment. Remember XEROX, we sure had them before others, and this
is so in things like the Automatic Justowriter years ago in Prts Services,
we had the 9 one made (the other 8 were on display at the Commercial
Control Company)
(4) All Agency units producing reports and documents for
extensive distribution examine the possibliity of using non-printing
means (such as Microfiche) for distribution and storage of their reports.
Do they really mean that units get into this, I should think that we
certainly have gotten involved in looking into these things, it is also
evident that the Systems Croup,DDP, and also CRS in the DDT area have all
gotten in on the act. I believe this is more the level for this sort of
action rather than the units.
