DIARY NOTES
A-DD/S 2 May 1966
1. In reporting the move o the Ames Building,25X1A
the DD/P asked about secure telephones , He was surprised to learn there
was only one secure line . I verified that this is the case, and it only has
two extensions , Gomrno is attempting to develop a system which will
permit six extensions . The problem is really one of acquiring anothex
circuit. These branches have access to the 1~Y-26 link for hot cables,
however .
2 . N.tr . Helms did not take exception to our paper on family visits,
but he does question the advisability of the program at this particular time .
He feels that newspaper treatment of it will relate to the reportedly bad
morale in the Agency, and he opines that we do not need that kind of
publicity at this time . He is going to speak to the DCI and we will hear
more about it later .
3. I briefed CoI . White on the GT problem which has developed
with the DD/P. He cautioned not to let this be decided. unfavorably at a
level below the front office .
4, ame in with a R&D paper which as it stands is
within the au ority, but alI GFE has been separated out, which., if
added, would put the project over. I stated that I did. not think that this was
in violation. of the principle especially since the entire project is in the R&D
catalogue .

presentation .
