DIARY NOTES
DD/S
I; Surplus Property Inquiry by the Senator Greuning Subcommittee: I
reported to the Executive Committee the involvement of our ogistics 25X1A
unit in this investigation and the possibility we might be used by the Committee
against the Army. Mr. Houston agreed to take this up and later reported that
in a meeting with the Committee staff they agreed not to involve the Agency as
they had ample other means of taking up the issues.
2. Allowances Committee: Finance had requested a slot to serve the
function of the Allowances Committee. This is a function conducted by the Office
of Personnel and will check this out to ensure that there is no
impingement of respons i sties.
3. Logistics' Stock Fund: A meeting was held with all interested parties
on the status of the Logistics' Stock Fund. Agreements were reached as to what
monies could be made available to correct this situation for the remainder of
FY 66. It appears that we will be able to "squeak by" for the remainder of FY 66.
A special committee headed by Jack Blake is making a study of interim measures
to be taken in FY 67 to correct stock fund deficiencies and to establish a completely
new plan to be implemented in FY 68 which should eliminate the basic deficiencies
existing in the present plan. This is a matter that requires full attention as we
continue to find ourselves in serious difficulty financially. The Office of Logistics
is taking a number of steps to maintain strict monitoring control over the stock
fund.
