This information has been passed on to 25X1 I Iof CA Staff. 5. Met with Dorothy Fosdick, Staff Director, Subcommittee on National Security and International Operations, whom I briefed on the Middle East situation, and Soviet naval activities in the Mediterranean. Miss Fosdick expressed particular interest in the Soviet leadership situation, and said that the Subcommittee was planning to hear testimony by Leonard Shapiro (prominent British Kremlinologist.) in the next week or two. Miss Fosdick asked whether we could provide a copy of a letter from the Soviet scientist complaining to the leadership about its present policies.
