(Internal Use Only - LLM) I General Counsel, STAT NSA, called in the interest of coordinating views on two congressional committee requests: The first stems from a 20 July 1970 letter from Senator Sam Ervin, Chairman of the Constitutional Rights Subcommittee, concerning DOD participation in a computer data bank. The second rccuest was from Representative John E. Moss, Chairman of Foreign Operations and Government Information Subcommittee, for information relating to telephone monitoring equipment. I told that we had not received STAT a request from Senator Ervin on compu er a a banks and agreed STAT that the inquiry was primarily related to allegations that the Army was keeping track of individuals engaged in riots and disturbances in th:; Uritec States.
