A few weeks ago I was offered a lucrative and challenging
opportunity in private industry. After much consideration, I
finally decided to accept the position of Vice President for
Engineering at Hughes Aircraft Company, California.
Of course my stay at the Agency was never intended to
be permanent, and I made that clear to Mr. McCone four years
ago. The goals I set have been realized, and it would not be
realistic to turn down the offer. Naturally, it will be difficult
to leave my friends and associates in this organization; but such
is the way of the world. 25X1 C
