2. Spoke with Senator Saltonstall concerning
his scheduled visit to the building this afternoon.
25X1 3? The CIA Subcommittee of House Appropriations
met to hear the Agency u get presentation. Present from the Agenc were:
25X1 Mr. Helms, Dr. Wheelon, Colonel White, John Clarke, I land
John Warner. This was an excellent meeting with the agency witnesses giving
the entire budget presentation. (See Memorandum for the Record. )

4. Senator Leverett Saltonstall visited the Agency
visiting the Operations Center, OSA Control Room and FMSAC. Prior to
his departure the Senator had a brief talk with the DDCI. The Senator fei=
this was most useful to him and urged us to attempt to arrange a meeting
of the Subcommittee here.
5. Picked up from the Senate Foreign Rela:ions
Committee staff copies of senator Eugene McCarthy's substitute resolution
calling for the establishment of a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
Operations. A copy of this resolution was left with Herb Atkinson, on the
staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
