4. (Unclassified - GLC) Received a call from Mr. Ralph
Vinovich, in the office of Senator Everett Dirksen, who wished to
verify the names of the French, British and Soviet intelligence and
security services. These were checked with CI Staff and the information
was given Mr. Vinovich who said that he was working on material the
Senator had dictated for a newsletter on CIA. He went on to say the
Senator stated in his newsletter that he regretted not being able to be
present on the floor of the Senate during the discussion regarding the
Agency for he would have spoken in opposition to the McCarth _resolution.
I asked Mr. Vinovich if we could be of further assistance and he thought
not. We will drop by the Senator's office tomorrow to obtain copi s of
the newsletter as finalized.
