11. At a chance meeting with Senator
Dirksen in the course of discussion, I offered to be of any assistance
and the Senator advised that he expected to accompany Senator
Mansfield to a meeting later in the day with the President at which
time the Foreign Relations resolution might be discussed. Also
provided to the Senator, a copy of the Foreign Relations Committee
resolution and our analysis of the floor debate.
