Approved For Release 2005/08/03 : CIA-RDP71 B00364R000600170033-8 7 June 1966 Mr. 0. C. Doering, Jr. Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine Two Wail Street New York, New York 10005 Dear Ole: I have not forgotten our recent conversation and thous 3- in line with some of your comments that you might be intere,-_,i in items which appeared recently in the CONGRESSIONAL R--("ORD. One is the debate on the floor of the Senate discussing Se natc McCairthy's proposal for a new Senate committee composed members of Armed Services, Appropriations, and Forein Relations. Subsequent to this debate there was much backgr {t nd discussion, and the matter is now dormant but the comments the individual senators are, I believe, quite Interesting. Th two other items are remarks by Senator Symington and SenaRG Lausche concerning some of the various allegations against i :i Agency. Also enclosed is a copy of Senator Saltonstall's nev s - letter which may be of interest. This is some of the strongest congressional support -?? have had in some time and may be the result of reactions ak=-i to your own. I do not have any concrete ideas on how mater: of this sort can best be used, but feel free to do with it as yc please. Sincerely, BIGI ED Lawrence R.
