called to say that the Department had received a request from the Ser ae
Foreign Relations Committee for a report on the McCarthy intellgen -(
inquiry resolution (S. Res. 210). He is interested in any thoughts we
might have on the subject. I told McAfee that the Agency had als,) re t ived
such a :request from the Committee, that we had been in touch with tl
Staff Director, Carl Marcy, who saw no need for hasty action on the,
routine requests and we had also been in touch with the Bureau of the budget
which is not disposed toward hasty action at this point. I told McAfe

time. McAfee said he was very pieased to receive this informat---on , rd
