SUBJECT: Evaluation of Proposed= Mission C278C, 25X1C
19 December 1968
25X1A REFERENCE: --2728/66, 24 October 1966
1. This memorandum is a review and analysis of Route
1085, over water off the China mainland coast roughly from
310 to 25? north latitude. The evaluation is in support
25X1C of -Mission C278C, scheduled to be flown 19 December 1968,
and is forwarded in compliance with this Office's respon-
sibilities as set forth in the reference.
2. Review and analysis of the intended route indicates
a small possibility of a fighter reaction against the
mission aircraft from Wu Hu Airfield (31-24N/118-25E),
where seven MiG-21's are currently believed based.
3. No SAM reactions are anticipated against the mission
if the route is flown as planned at least 20 nm off shore.
