1. (Unclassified - II In response to a request from Scott Cohen,
in the office of Senator Charles Percy, the Senator and Cohen were given
a briefing byl on the situation in
the Middle East. At the Senator's invitation, Mr. William Miller, formerly
with State Department and now on the staff of Senator John Sherman Cooper,
also attended. The Senator was anxious to have a better understanding of
the Arab/Israeli situation and the various ramifications pertaining to it
and was most attentative during the briefing. He, Cohen and Miller asked
a number of questions during the course of the session which lasted
approximately 45 minutes. Following the briefing, Senator Percy expressed
his appreciation tol for taking time to give him a rundown on
this situation.
