Mr. Cord Meyer, Chief, CA Staff,
advised tha has received requests from Senator Jack
Miller (R. , Iowa) and Repres tative William Steiger, (R., Wis.),
both close personal friends o to meet informally on a 25X1
non-attributable basis concerning the current publicity relating to the
National Student Association- . Meyer advised that it was his
recommendation tha eet with the Senator and Representative
since he was an indivi ua Fig y respected and admired by both members
of Congress, subject however to a royal by the Director which was

obtained later in the day. ill make the appointments 25X1
directly for meeting for himsel an at a time convenient 25X1
to the Senator and the Representative, probably during the day tomorrow.
Delivered to the Committee, transcripts
of the Director's appearance of 1 February before the Subcommittee on
Disarmament of Senate Foreign Relations. The transcripts were
picked up at the end of the day for return to the Agency.
Discussed with Mr. Clifford
GaucherAdministrative Assistant to Representative Philip Philbin,
Mr. Philbin's request for an unclassified paper for his use on Southeast
Asia. Arranged to meet with Mr. Gaucher tomorrow morning at 9:30
together with representatives of the DD/I for a verbal briefing.
Arranged with Mr. Frank Holmes
of the Holmes Reporting Company, for control of the transcript of the
Director's appearance before House Foreign Affairs this afternoon.
Miss June Nigh, Senior Staff Assistant, House Foreign Affairs Committee,
advised that only one copy will be needed for Committee use. Mr. Holmes
will make an original and one copy.
