Science and Astronautics Committee, in. response to his request for advice
and assistance for Committee Chairman Miller and Subcommittee member
Olin Teague concerning information, preferably unclassified, relating to
space walking and space rescue procedures and facilities. The Committee
is particularly interested in any publications by the Soviets in these fields.
He noted with quite some interest the October 1964 proposal of the
Baltimore Division of the Martin Company concerning space rescue and
is requesting the material directly from Martin today.
Mr. Gerardi also requested advice concerning the news releases
of 19 May by Reuters concerning the increased cooperation by the French
and Soviets by the incorporation of French instruments and Soviet satellites.

Nelson, Administrative Assistant to Senator Claiborne Pell (D. , R. I. )
concerning an individual located in the Washington area, who is returning
to the Middle East to live. See Memorandum for the Record for details.
Senate Government Operations Subcommittee, concerning the Warsaw Pact
Paper. Miss Fosdick reiterated that the Senator was most pleased with the
tenure and format as well as the substance of the paper. She noted that it
was being processed for publication with no substantive changes. A forward
has been included to the effect that the paper was prepared in the Executive
Branch in cooperation with the Committee staff.
