Conversation concerning the check was limited to a brief discussion
of the deductions for Federal income taxes and Social Security which
had been made. honked me very much for the check
and noted that we were "fast" in getting it to him.
Permanent Investi ations Subcommittee staff, and delivered to 1-~im a
blind memorandum entitled Communist Bloc c ools in Accra, Ghana.
Mr. O'Donnell felt that the information provided would be most helpful
and advised that a formal response to Chairman McClellan would not
be necessary and that he would make the appropriate file notation. In
addition however, he requested on behalf of the Chairman any -other
information of the nature set forth in the memorandum that might be
available, and said it would be very much appreciated. See Memorandum
for the Record.
Representative John W. Wydler, called to say they had received an inquiry
from a constituent as to whether this Agency as well as the FBI had
scholarship. programs for prospective employees. She said she received
a reply from the Bureau that the FBI had no funds for this purpose. I
told her the same answer applied to this Agency.

Committee sta~ ca ed inquiring if we could give him any thoughts on the
book by Dennis Bloodworth, The Chinese Looking Glass. I said I would
look into this and advise.
