with Representative Peter Rodino (D. , N. J.) the Congressman's bill for
Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty employees. It was agreed that the
provision requiring beneficiaries of the bill to. hold permanent residence
visas would be reinserted into the bill. Mr. Rodino hopes to bring the
bill before the House Subcommittee on Immigration next week and anticipates
no problem with it if he can get it pasthe Chairman, Representative
Michael A. Feighan (D., Ohio).
7. Delivered to Chairman Mahon two letters
from the Director concerning
Chairman Mahon arranged for the safekeeping of these letters and said
he wants to go over them both very thoroughly as soon as Robert Michaels,
of the House Appropriations Committee staff, returns.
9. Met with Mr. Melvin Miller, Administrative
Assistant to Representative Glenard P. Lipscomb, concerning information
on an individual known to him.
