SUBJECT Contract Monitors
Over the past year the "contract monitor" approach
to contract surveillance has been utilized by the Materiel
Division. Our success has been less than noteworthy.
Considerable confusion was found to emanate from the fact
that several Materiel Staff Officers are usually interested
in each contract. In order to eliminate confusion and
to insure accurate following of contract activities, Materiel
proposes to follow the following procedure:
a. All changes affecting scope of contracts will

appointed to handle specific tasks falling under the
scope of existing contracts. These people are
available for free discussions about any project and
to provide technical support to your office as required.
