SUBJECT : New "B" Recorder for IDEALIST
1. The reference notes the deficiencies in the
recorder furnished for use with the System 17.
We feel it is quite pertinent to the discussions we have
had with you previously regarding your proposed contract
with ., for the-now "B" recorder for
IDEALIST.
2::: Although some of the deficiencies found in the
M-14 recorder can be attributed to poor packaging, the
rest of them certainly demonstrate a less than adequate
standard of quality control, if not poor systems engineer-
ing.
3. We again express our misgivings, as we have done
verbally bc,ore, regarding a contract with
Inc. for the "B" recorder replacement. We are particularly
concerned by the fact that F_ 7 must sub-cc tact
for the record heads and for the playback system.
