SUBJECT . Exchange of Patent Materials between US and USSR
In response to your request at the PROCIB meeting of March 24,
1959, I am enclosing for your retention copies of the correspondence
relating to the exchange of patent materials between the US and the
USSR.
The correspondence indicates that arrangements have been
concluded on the technical level for exchange of patent materials
between the U.S. Patent Office and the All-Union Patent Technical
Library of the USSR.
We have been informed that the first exchange of patent
materials took place in January. The U.S. Patent Office received
614 Soviet numbers (three copies each) in two shipments. Almost
simultaneously, 4000 U.S. patents were transmitted to Moscow.
