Ambassador. and Mrs. Romulo
in honor of their country's
Secretey of Defense and
Mrs. Santos.
Scores. of..members of the
military: and -their wives
tinned out to pay tribute to
the Philippine Secretary, and
almost as many members of
the United States Congress
came by a' favorite Embassy.
Where in somei,corners of
the room there was talk of
"when" I was stationed in the
hiliPpines" there were oth-
er spots where the conver-
sation Was nothing but 'cam-
paigns ? America's political
ones.
The 'host,' himself, who for'
