We wish to call your attention to the following items, the cost of which
is included in our estimate to complete as furnished in the above referenced letter,
and which we consider to constitute a change in scope on the subject contract.
25X1A 1. Two Centur 09 X Recorders (reference your TWX 3279). The fee on
this item would be arrived at as follows: 25X1A

2. Reference our TWX 374 concerning the addition to the vacuum furnace
to provide a complete mission's thermal and pressure profile. As stated in that
TWX, we had originally hoped that the thermal mockup at the facility would provide
this capability. However, this turned out to be untrue. We therefore feel that
this constitu

In addition to the two items noted above, there are two other areas for
which we have not yet estimated the costs to any great degree of reliability. These
items are therefore not included in the additional funding requested in the letter
referenced above.
Item 1, Prototype Flight Testing - this itEm only includes the cost of
the aircraft and flight test facilities necessary to flight test the prototype
locally. We have always planned to flight test it in a low altitude, slow-speed
aircraft, however, our original plan was that the test bed would be customer-furnished
(reference Paragi~ , Document No. 111). Our present rough estimate for the cost
of the flight test aircraft and facility is approximately upon which
the fee would be 25X1A

The other area of change in scope which has not as yet been estimated in
detail concerns itself with the requirement to include a capability for use of the
equipment when the vehicle is flying coordinated turns. We plan to submit an
official proposal on this item within the next six (6) weeks. However, for budget
purposes, we would state a cost figure of approximately with a fee of
approximately 25X1A
To summarize then, the cost of the first two items has been included in
our estimate to complete furnished with our letter JG-M-117, whereas the last two
items have not been included in that estimate. The information regarding the last
two items is, of course, subject to change pending firm quotations from flight test
vendors, and submission of our proposal regarding coordinated turns.
