SUBJECT: Items of Interest
1. Reading Requirements for the Sino-Soviet Branch (S) of
the OCI Research Division were deleted on 17 July. Per

2. The OCR Requirements Coordination Staff (RCS) has been
abolished, and the requirements functions of OCI and OSI have been
transferred to the recently created Collection Guidance Staff.
Accordingly, the OCR/RCS requirements were cancelled and Reading
Requirements for the Requirements Branch/Human Resources Group
and Requirements Registry of the Collection Guidance Staff were
issued to Document Analysts on 17 July 1963.
3. On July 16, 1963, The Interim Assixgnment Section (Pool)
of the Office of Personnel counted and distributed 1,308 Scientific
Periodic Abstract Cards. Arrangements were made and instructions
were XMNX issued by the undersigned. I sincerely thanked the
IAS people for their cooperation and they expressed a willingness
to perform this service in the future. The supervisor suggested
that this service be made known to higher officials. Suggest that
mention be made of the fact(that IAS provided X16 service to OCR)
in the next monthly report.
