Approved For Releas- -RDP67-00896R000100020017-4 25X1A9a 14- December 1956 r SUBJECT : Revision of the CIA - AFOIN Agreement of 1953 re Minicard Program and Receipt of Master Ozalids. Present Colonel De Bruler - Major Sidenberg - Major Brame - Major Sanders - Major Nelson - AFOIN-1B AFOIN-1B AFOIN-lB AFOIN-1B AFOIN-1B - Machine Division - Document Division 25X1A9a - Document Division - Document Division - Document Division 1. The main purpose of the meeting was to agree upon the future course of the master ozalid program which CIA and Air Force began in 1953. Based upon the answers to cables sent out by AFOIN to determine the use made of codes appearing on reproduced IRts, AFOIN can no longer justify asking CIA to continue coding masters. Since CIA is interested in microfilming those enclosures which would not come to us on normal distribution because of insufficient copies, AFOIN made a 1i day study to determine the volume of this material. Approximately 22% of the total take, or 350 items a week, falls into this category. It was agreed that effective Monday, December 17, 1956, only this type of material will come over to CIA with the master ozalid and the remainder of Air Force material will be received in reproduced form. (this is comparable to the G-2 agreement of August 195- and ONI agreement of January 1956). and the responsible officers of AFOIN-1B2 will work out a set of categories of enclosures which CIA does not wish to receive, such as books, periodicals, maps, etc. The curtailment of the ozalid program will enable AFOIN to serve its customers 5-6 days sooner than at present. 2. Since AFOIN has not been using the microfilm furnished by CIA on every IR received, this service can also be discontinued immediately.
