2, Compiles and constructs for IAC agencies specialised maps to
accompany intelligence reports and to meet other specific
intelligence requirements.
Under the overall coordination of the Basic Intelligence

Group,, assists in the basic intelligence program by pre
paring standard map bases and final map, presentations, by
coordinating map requirements and specifications with con-
tributing agencies, and by coordinating and contributing
to the map chart_,,aadcVba#& appraisal chapter of National
Intelligenc 5urveys0
Coordinates the formulation of interdepartmental require-
ments'for the procurement of foreign mapi, charts, and
related data; and, provides the Department"of State with
recommendations to ' effect map procurement in foreign areas
through Foreign Service facilities
Maintains the CIA map collection, which includes an extensive
coverage of intelligence maps and relate geographic informa-
tion on foreign areas; and provides interdepartmental services
in connection therewith, including assistance in the selection
of pertinent materials and the distribution of these materials
as loans or gifts to CIA and other appropriate agencies.
