Weekly Activity Report, Week Ending 4 October 19146.
1. Intelligence Program - USSR. Interdepartmental Committee now
drawing up a Strategic Intelligence Digest for USSR is finding
many large gaps in its information. The committee is prepared to
draw up a set of National Intelligence Requirements for Russia as
soon as the pattern is set by CIG. ICAPS will not look direct to
committee but will.call on ORE for first draft. No program for
collection by OSO has as yet been found. 25X1A
2. Geographic Intelligence. Prepared with
a statement of duties for Chief of Geographic Sec-
tion of Functional Branch. transfer to CIG from State 25X1A
is still awaiting personnel arrangements,
3. Lecture on National Intelligence for Air War Colle . Lecture
submitted by Advisory Council was obsolete, and they have been re-
quested to revise. Air War College requested receipt by 15 October.
This is now impossible, but revision should be pushed.
14. Scientific Information Program on Russia. This is a high priority
subject but the general approach suggested by OCD can be speeded up
by a statement of requirements arrived at as a result of 1 above.
ORE now has the paper for comment and will hold discussions with
OCD.
5. Foreign Documents. Discussion held with all agencies on Dissemi-
nation Procedures, evelopes point that Tech Intelligence, Wright
Field, AAF feels qualified to handle cataloguing and indexing of all
foreign :(and domestic) documents received, will
discuss with JRDB, A-2, and of CIG.
6. Coordination Program for CIG. Distributed to four agencies for
comment an suggestions*
