1. T thought it might be will to clarify the funding on Contract
25X1 A GA-1853. At the end of the fiscal year at 30 Jung 1964 the total funds
obligated on this contract by Amendm~snt No. 4 consist?d of
At that tune it looked v~er3r much like w+e would not require the Contractor
to perform any additional services and accordingly the Contractor arranged
to coaapl?te all requirements under this contract within these fundffi by
30 June 1$G4.
2. Later in July and August 1464 a further limited effort eras
25X1A required. and accordingly en Amendment Ato. 6 was is$ueci to the contract
covering psrfomrance from 1 July 1464 through 31 December 1964 and
was allotted to the contract at that time to cover the period 1 July through
31 August 1964. Am~snd~nt No. 7 increased. the estimated cost and fee and in
Amendment No. #3 I allotted the tots]. sum of funds required to cover the
contract from l July through 31 Iecember 1961,.
25X1 A 3. If the que$tion should arias why the total sum of
25X1A in Amendment No. 8 (which Headquarters does not yet have) was not on
to the of F7C-64 funds the reason is simply that we had thought
the contract to be completed on 3d June 1464. 4Jhen additional requirements
developed in fiscal 65 these were add?d only for the period 1 July 1464
through 31 Decemt~r 1464. There is no reason why the funding for performanc?
in I'7-65 can not be added to the funding far performe~nce i.n fiscal 64.
