Approved For Release 2010/04/26: CIA-RDP65B00383R000400120016-0 STENNIS STATEMENT Senator Stennis stated today that the Subcommittee received testimony on Wednesday on the role that the intelligence services will play in the event the U. S. should negotiate a nuclear test ban treaty with the Soviet Union. This testimony was presented in executive session by John A. McCone, Director of Central Intelligence. Senator Stennis said that Mr. McCone "Save the Subcommittee very valuable and helpful information about the manner in which our intelligence services will assist in detecting, identifying, and locating suspected secret underground, atmospheric, underwater, or outer space tests in violation of a test ban and in the identification of any nation which conducts them.
