Cross did locate DOD clearances on nine employees of Holmes' reporting firm. Sprankle is unavailable until after Wednesday and asked that I call him at that time. 6. I I - GLC) Met with George Murphy, of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy staff, and briefed him on the case of the Ion 20 January. Murphy and James Ramey, of the Committee staff, had raised a question on this case at Dr. Scoville's briefing. Mr. Burrows advised that Senator Barry Goldwater has been pressing the Bureau for their position so that early congressional action might be obtained.
