MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT : Inspector General's Survey of the Medical
Office dated 22.-April 1955
1. The Inspector General's Survey makes eleven (11) specific
recommendations, which have been carefully reviewed and a full
report thereon is attached hereto.
2. In accordance with Recormnendation #1, the Chief, Medical
Staff, has been formally comended for his role in the development
of the Agency's Medical Program, and a copy placed in his official
file.
3. I concur with the Chief, Medical Staff, in his substantial
agreement with all of the other recommendations except #2 and #6.
Regarding these two areas of disagreement, I will confer with the
Inspector General and the Chief, Medical Staff in order to arrive
at a mutually acceptable statement and resolution of these dif-
ferences.

Remarks : Kirk : In following up on a completed
report of action taken on your survey of the
Medical Staff, I ran across the attached memo
from Red White of 27 May 1955 which I had not
seen. There is no indication that you have
seen it either. It is my understanding that
John Tietjen will see you,when he returns from
his trip, to resolve the are o sagreement.
