My tour of duty at CIA ends on October 15. I shall
be in the State Department and on leave for a few weeks
before sailing early in December to return to the Foreign
Service as American Consul General at Bombay* Come out
for a visit!
If I haven't seen you personally to say good-bye
during the last couple of days, this is it! I wish you
and yours in your Office the best of luck and I hope that
CIA will go onwards and upwards --- HE Pluribus Unum"!!
now that it has survived its birth pangs and growing pains.
It has been most interesting for me working with you here
and I am sorry that my accomplishments have been so slow
and so meager. Gone are those days!?
