1. Dr. Catherine Clardy, Head of Department of Slavic Lan-
guages at FSI, has requested five copies of the OTR Newspaper
Reader for use in a current Czech full-time course. FSI has also
been making use of our Polish and Russian newspaper readers.

From the start the mora]e of the students in this ten week
course has been excellent. Several new techniques for teaching
language at an intermediate level are being combined with greater
demands being placed on both instructors and students. Up to this
point the results have been highly satisfactory.
