SIGNIFICANT ITEMS None to report. B. OTHER ACTIVITIES 1.I (conferred with Ferdinand Kuhn last wee on s possible contribution to the new program. Kuhn just returned from several months in Southeast Asia studying the problems of overseas Chinese, indicated great interest in the program and his readiness to help. He should make a valu- able contribution. 2. were forced to head a busy retreat from their new office when a horde of flying termites erupted out of the woodwork. With the assistance of several mocking birds and eventually the extermination, the situation was finally brought under control. 3. telephoned FDD Admin Officer to discuss the latter's suggestion that, special tests sessions in the more popular languages be held in "Yu Bldg., in order to economize on travel time for FDA Personnel. As the sugges- tion seems an excellent one it was agreed that plans would be made to carry it out. 4. Thirty-three people reported for proficiency tests last week in Russian, Turkish, Romanian, Italian and Spanish. 5.
