testing of CIA personnel for escort service for Soviet delegations
traveling in the United States. On 2 April he attended a meeting
held at Language Services Division, Department of State, at which
the following were present: Edmund Glenn, Chief/Interpretation
Branch, Theodore Leon Chief /Language Services, both of the Depart-
ment of State, and both of CIA's Office

3. Two new informal seminars have been announced this week,
one in Romanian and one in Spanish. These seminars are conducted
from 1200 to 1300 two days a week. A seminar of this type in French
has been active for over two years and currently draws from 10 to
15 students. A seminar in Italian, which started recently, averages
between two to four students. Agency personnel with native fluency
are invited to conduct these seminars whenever feasible; the balance
of the time they are conducted by native speakers or the language
school staff.
