suBJECr: Weekly Activities Report
A. SIGNIFICANT ITEMS
None to report.
B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. The security aspects of the employment of contract instructors
by LAS was discussed at a meeting with DTR, DDP/TO, SO/TR..
It was generally agreed at, if and
when the contract instructors are cleared, no serious problem exists
other than to make DDP components fully aware of the way in which
these instructors are to be used at the time members of the CS are
detailed for language or area instruction. It was further agreed
that in those cases where there is a requirement for training in
unusual or little used languages and an uncle arable instructor (or
one who is not a citizen)must be used, special arrangements such
as utilization of FSI must be made. It'was suggested that con-
sideration might be given to separating LAS from all physical asso-
ciation
with the Agency as a means of providing the most effective
protection for the training of CS personnel.
2. Durin the course of attendance at his 30th Law School
Reunion he explored with Professor
o the Law choo , the possibility of the University
making a contribution to support of the new program on Personal"
Effectiveness Overseas. who has long worked in related`
fields and on associated subjects was most interested in further
exploring the matter.

week in Arabic, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese,
Russian and Spanish.
