A. SIGNIFICANT ITEMS
None to report.
B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. Consideration is being given to enlarging the library facilities
of LAS to include material of all kinds, including tapes and slides
as well as books, pamphlets and other material relating to overseas
activities and overseas effectiveness. This will eventually require
the services of a full time librarian. This project will be coordi-
nated with OCR Library Division.
2. ~ came to consult withn 9 July about scheduling
personnel of the Office of the Comptroller for language tests.
3. Forty-three people reported for written proficiency tests last
week in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Romanian and
Spanish.
L. Thirty-six Certifications for Language Award certificates were
sent to the Registrar last week.
5. During the past month sixty-eight orals were given in Arabic,
Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese and Russian.
