C.; discharged as captain; now holds rank as a major in the Active Army Reserves; first Member of Congress and Reservist to take the combat parachute training course with the 82d Airborne Division (1956); member of the law firm of Wainwright & Matthews; member University Club (N. Y. ), Union Club of New York City, Masonic Lodge, Phi. Delta Phi, and a vestryman of St. Luke's Episcopal Church; elected to the Eighty-third Congress November 4, 1952; reelected to the Eighty- fourtiCongress November 2. 1954; reelected to the Eighty-fifth Congress November 6, 1956; reelected to the Eighty-siiath Congress.
