Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2013/08/20: CIA-RDP61-00357R000100276031-8 Journal Office of Legislative Counsel Wednesday - 20 November 1957 Following up on the request by Mr. Cyrus Vance for a technical sweep of the Johnson Subcommittee staff rooms and the hotel room of the Chief Counagilty personnel visited both locations. In the office in Room 1016 at HOLC, one of the safes seemed to be unreliable and the Office of Security dispatched an appropriate safe on temporary loan to that office. Also made tentative arrangements for a technical sweep of the Armed Services hearing room for next week. Edwin Weis', Sr.. and Cyrus Vance met with the Director, Scoville, Stoerts, Colonel White. and Warner to have a dry run of the CIA testimony at next week's hearings. Robert Amory joined for a portion of the session. The session was helpful in that the Agency received certain suggestions for including other additional information. The time for the Director's appearance was tentatively set for Tuesday afternoon (26 November 1957). Mr. Fred M. Mesmer, Staff Member, Committee on the Judiciary, Immigration and Naturalisation (Senate) called to say he bad several items on which be required assistance. These items will be forwarded and handled in the normal manner.
