2. Maps of Switzerland present a special problem, since Switzerland has
four official languages -? German. French, Italian, and Romansch. It has
been decided insofar as possible to fol.]_cnr the procedure used by the Library
of Congress and prescribed In the t ~ricr. s Library Association Cataltging
Rules for Author and Title Entries.. l.y1h - If titles of equal prominence--
are all non-English anti one is in C r r . c tte only the German title. If
German is not one of the languages ured on he map, cite French, Italian,
or Romansch in that order of treferer#ce.
3- In the case of maps of Finland, use Finnish as the official language
for purposes :r; map titles in citations.
4. For the Union of South Africa, use English as the official
language in citing map titles.
