1. Visited Chairman Vinson of the House Armed Services
Committee and discussed with him the DCI's letter on the funding
problem for the new building. This conversation is reported in
a separate memo to the DCI.
2. of Personnel and I visited Senator Bush
to discuss the John Downey case. This meeting is reported in a
separate memo to the DCI.
4. Met with Robert Smart, Chief Counsel of the House
Armed Services Committee, to discuss status of CIA legislation.
Smart indicated that the Committee schedule was full at the
moment, but that they would notify us in due time that hearings
were to be held on our building.
