Mr. CARLSON introduced the following bill; which was read twice and, referred
to the Committee on Post Office and Civil Service
A .BILL
To amend the Act ?of October 15, 1949, with respect to the
rate of compensation- of the Chairman of the Council of
conomtc Advisers.
'Be it enacted by. the Senate and House of Representa-
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
That section 3 of the Act entitled "An Act to increase rates
4 of compensation of the heads and assistant heads of executive
5 departments and independent agencies", approved October
6 15, 1949 (Public Law 359, Eighty-first Congress; 63 Stat.
7 880), is amended by inserting "the Chairman of the Coun-
8 cil of Economic Advisers," immediately after "the Admin-
9 istrator of. General Services,".
10 SEC. 2. Section 4 of such Act of October 15, 1949, is

1 amended by striking out "members of the Council of Eco-
2 nomic Advisers" and inserting in lieu thereof "members
(other than the Chairman) of the Council of Economic
Advisers".
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on the first day of
the first pay period which begins after the date of enactment
of this Act.
