Project 51-3, Summer Seminar on the Near East. A letter to the Director of FSI is being prepared for the signature of the D/TR advising officially that 0/TR wishes to participate in the subject program and is prepared to enroll eight students in the course. 2. Due to the response received to queries on requirements for attendance at the FSI International Relations Course, the subject program is being reviewed and revised with the end in view of meeting the need which appears to have developed for a broad high- level lecture program. The revised program will. be coordinated with the .Chief, Programs Division, prior to submittal to the DD/TR(G) for review and comment. 3. Project 52-15, Summer SemiiMr, pn Israel. A summary description of the sub- ject program has been drafted and submitted to the Chief, Programs Division, for review, reproduction and dissemination to the Training Liaison Officers. Project 53-18, Overseas Training Mate Action held up pending reply from DD/P to TR(S). 10. Project 53-22, Training of Emnlovees IAC Agencies. A draft of an in- vitation to the IAC agencies to participate in the BIC is being reviewed. 11. Project 53-23, Development of New Language and Area Programs. It has been determined from FSI that the capability exists of offering two and possibly three new programs, on Japan, China, and possibly on South Asia. Starting date for Japan is 1 June, for China, projected for September of October, and for South Asia, projected for January of 1954. S/PP is in process of determining requirements for Agency participation in each program. 12. Project 53-24, Language and Area Programs Staff Study. Draft in process. 13.
