Description of Program: This program includes two weeks' pre-area briefing in
wshington, ei#ht weeks in the Near East with lectures and seminars on the his-
tory, geography, geopolitics, and contemporary problems of the Near Last, and
three weeks of field trips to capitol and major cities of most of the countries
in the Near East, including briefings at U. S. embassies and legations in the
area.
Length of Program: 13 weeks, full time, beginning about 1 July 1953.
